After the disintegration of Soviet Union and mass migration of the 90s/00s a new young Russian speaking diaspora was builded in Germany and Western Europe. Also the hip-hop culture scene in Russian and other Slavic languages was growing up. Since 2008 “Borschtsch” Festival was a meet-up place for artists making Russian hip-hop in Germany.
The Festival was re-opened by Щ-Crew and took place in Berlin 2018 and 2019. In corona times BORSCHTSCH is also taking place as online Hip-Hop Battle and an online Hip-Hop Festival, supported by Ost Anders.
